This guide shows you how to correct a product's quantity after a count, or when goods are damaged, lost or expired. It also shows you how to correct a product's cost. You need the Manage stock permission. Owners can always do this.

Use this for accessories and other products. Devices are counted one by one, so you do not adjust them.

Adjust the quantity

  1. Tap Products and open the product.
  2. Tap Adjust stock.
  3. Under Change, tap Add or Remove.
  4. Type the Quantity to add or remove. Inventra shows how many will be in stock after this.
  5. Pick a Reason:
    • Count correction: your count does not match the app.
    • Damaged, Lost or Expired: only for removing stock.
    • Other: anything else. Then you must write a Note.
  6. Tap Adjust.

The change shows in the product's history with the reason and who made it.

Tip: You cannot remove more than you have in stock.

Tip: Add only works once the product has a cost. If it has none yet, use Receive stock first. See Add a product and receive stock.

Tip: New goods from a supplier are a delivery, not an adjustment. Use Receive stock for them, so the cost is recorded.

Update the cost

Inventra works out each product's average cost when you receive stock. If it is wrong, you can correct it. You need the Manage stock permission.

  1. Open the product and tap Update cost.
  2. In Average cost, type what one unit costs you now. Later deliveries average from this.
  3. Add a reason in Why (optional), for example "Supplier's new price".
  4. Tap Update cost.

The new cost counts for sales from now on. Sales you already made keep the cost they had.

Stop selling a product

If you have the Archive items permission, open the product and tap Archive. The product leaves the list and the Sell page. Its stock stays as it is. Tap Unarchive to bring it back.

You cannot receive, adjust or update the cost of an archived product. Unarchive it first.
