Add a product and receive stock

This guide shows you how to add accessories and other goods you count in bulk, like chargers, cases and earbuds. It also shows you how to record new deliveries. You need the Manage stock permission. Owners can always do this.

Add a product

1. Tap Products, then Add product. Or tap Add product on the dashboard. On a phone, Products is under More.
2. Type the Name, for example "USB-C Charger 20W".
3. Tap a Category.
4. Type the Brand if it has one, for example "Oraimo".
5. Type the Selling price for one unit.
6. In Reorder at, type the number at which you want a low-stock warning. Leave it empty if you never want one.
7. Add a Description if it helps.
8. Under Opening stock, type the Quantity you have now and the Cost per unit. You can skip this and receive stock later.
9. Tap Save.

Tip: A product needs a cost before you can sell it. If you skip opening stock, receive stock with its cost before the first sale.

Receive a delivery

1. Open the product and tap Receive stock. Or tap Stock next to the product on the Products page.
2. Type the Quantity that arrived.
3. Type the Cost per unit you paid this time.
4. Add a Note, for example the supplier or invoice number.
5. Tap Receive.

The quantity goes up at once. Inventra also works out a new average cost from the old stock and the new delivery. You do not need to do this yourself.

Low stock

When the quantity is at or below Reorder at, the product shows Low stock. On the Products page, tap Filters and tick Low stock only to see what to buy again.

See the history

A product's page shows every movement: deliveries, sales, returns and adjustments. Each row shows the quantity after it. Sold and returned rows link to the receipt.

Change a product

Open the product, tap Edit, change what you need and tap Save. Only staff with the Manage stock permission can edit a product or change its price. To change the quantity, see Adjust stock and update cost.

Tip: Only staff with the See costs permission see costs and stock value at cost.
