Add a device or accessory while selling

This guide shows you how to sell something you have not added to Inventra yet. You add it while you sell: it goes into your stock and straight into the cart, so you never have to turn a customer away to do data entry first. You need the Manage stock permission. Owners can always do this.

Add a device while selling

1. Tap Sell and search for the device, for example by typing its IMEI.
2. If nothing matches, tap Add a new device. If you searched for an IMEI or serial, it is already filled in.
3. Pick the Type, then start typing the Brand or Model and pick a match from the list. Inventra fills in the specs for you.
4. Pick the Condition.
5. Type the Cost (what you paid) and the Selling price.
6. Tap More details if you want to add the colour, storage, RAM or notes. You can also add them later.
7. Tap Add to cart.

The device is now in your stock and in the cart. Finish the sale as usual. See Make a sale.

If the IMEI is already in your store, Inventra tells you. If that device is in stock, tap Add that one to the cart to sell it.

Add an accessory while selling

1. Tap Sell, search for the product, and tap Add a new product if nothing matches. Or tap Add new item at the top and choose Accessory or product.
2. Type the Name and pick the Category.
3. Type the Selling price and the Cost per unit.
4. Type How many are in the shop: everything you have of it, including what the customer is buying.
5. Type How many is the customer buying.
6. Tap Add to cart.

All of them go into your stock at their cost. The customer's share goes into the cart, and the rest stays in stock for your next sale.

If you already have a product with that name, Inventra shows it so you do not add it twice. Tap Add to cart to sell it, or Add stock to it if it has run out.

If the sale does not go ahead

The item stays in your stock. That is right: it is in your shop. Sell it later like anything else.

Tip: Staff without the Manage stock permission do not see these buttons. Give the permission to the people you trust with your costs. See Add staff and choose permissions.
