Add a device

This guide shows you how to add phones, laptops and other devices to your stock. Inventra tracks each device on its own, by its IMEI or serial number. You need the Manage stock permission. Owners can always do this.

Have a long list? You can bring it in from Excel or CSV instead. See Import your stock from a spreadsheet. You can also add a device while you sell it. See Add a device or accessory while selling.

Add a device

1. Tap Devices, then Add device. Or tap Add device on the dashboard.
2. Pick the Type, for example Phone, Laptop or Tablet.
3. Start typing in Brand or Model, like "iphone 15 128gb". Pick a match from the list. Inventra fills in the type and specs for you. You can still change them.
4. If nothing matches, you see "No match in the catalogue". Type the details yourself.
5. Type the IMEI or serial. For laptops and other devices, type the Serial number.
6. Pick the Condition: New, UK used, Dubai used, Second hand or Display unit.
7. Fill in Colour, Storage, RAM and Processor if you know them. Laptops and desktops also have Graphics.
8. Type the Cost (what you paid) and the Selling price.
9. Add Notes if it helps, for example "Scratch on the back, box included".
10. Tap Save.

Tip: To see a phone's IMEI, dial *#06# on the phone.

Add many of the same model

Tap Save & add similar instead of Save. The form stays filled in, except the IMEI. Type the next IMEI and save again.

On a device's page, Duplicate does the same thing: it starts a new device with the same details.

One IMEI, one device

Each IMEI or serial number can only be used once in your store. If you type one that is already used, Inventra tells you.

• If that device was sold from your store, you can Buy it back instead. See Buy back a device.
• If not, check the number again.

Change a device

1. Open the device and tap Edit.
2. Change what you need and tap Save.

Once a device is sold, only its notes can change. The IMEI is locked after the first sale.

Tip: Only staff with the Manage stock permission can edit a device or change its price. To sell for less, use a discount.

Stop selling a device

If you have the Archive items permission, open the device and tap Archive. It leaves the device list and cannot be sold. Tap Unarchive to bring it back.

Tip: The Devices page shows how many devices are available, reserved and sold this month. Search by brand, model or IMEI.
